Camera Setup

1) Download KASA

Get the Kasa Smart app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

 

2) Log In to Kasa smart app

Open up the app on your phone and use: [e-mail] as user name and in the email provided password.

• Select location: Australia
• Agree to the Terms of Use
• Determine the Get the most Out of Kasa settings. If you are not sure unselect the tick marks and press: Done

3) Power up Camera

Press +, top right corner on the app Devices page. Click: Device. Select: Camera. Select: Kasa Spot Pan Tilt

Plug in/power your Kasa Spot Pan Tilt and place it in the area you'd like to monitor. Make sure the area has a strong Wi-Fi signal, press Next.

Look at the front of the Camera. Is the LED blinking orange and green? If yes, press: Orange and Green, and go to step 4) Connecting to your Kasa Spot.

 

If no? You have to reset the camera. For KC110, you need to turn the camera lens up to find the RESET button.

 

4) Connecting to your Kasa Spot.

Go to your phone settings and click the Kasa Spot's Wi-Fi network. Eg. Kasa_Cam_5C2C

Return to the Kasa app to continue setup. (If requested choose: Do not reset)

When your Wi-Fi network of choice is found, select it. Enter your Wi-Fi password and press Join.

It might take a few minutes to establish a connection when the Kasa Spot is connecting to your home network. Name your Device: eg. Living room.

The LED on the Camera will turn solid green. The Camera will start connecting to the internet. Press: OK

5) Final settings to complete the setup

Decide if you like to Enable notifications on your phone, either enable Notifications or choose I don't want to be notified

If you do not mount the Camera upside down or to a wall, select: I'll Do it later. 

Select: Sounds good

Select: 12 hours of cloud video history, and click: Got it.

Click: Not now for Kasa Care Free Trial (unless you want to subscribe to paid video recording storage).

Select a Camera. Position the camera to a viewpoint of choice, and click: + above the camera viewpoint to save the viewpoint. Repeat this process if you like, up to 4 viewpoints. Note: You cannot have both viewpoints AND Motion tracking enabled.

 

How to Change Camera Settings (optional)

1) Change to different Wi-Fi connection

Swipe camera of choice to the left. Select: Delete

Redo previous step 3 to 5.

2) Rename Camera names

Select a Camera. Click Config cog, top right corner. Click Device name. Rename device to eg. Living room, and press: Save.

3) Enable Activity Notifications

Press three horizontal stripes top left corner. Click: Settings.  Click Notifications. Click: Camera name, and select: Activity Notifications
